Check out the new look. It's cleaner and easier to use, especially on an ipad. The store is immensely improved, as I added a new checkout, for people who don't have PayPal, and now you can view my paintings by the year they were created, or the name of the collection, (landscape, figurative, portrait, etc. ), alphabetically or by the price. I love these features and you will too! Please leave a comment on my blog to let me know how you liked it. Anyone who does comment, will be entered into a draw to win this painting! Draw is on April 12! Please come back often as my new works will be posted here, and not necessarily on Facebook.

Experimenting with mixed media

I have been struggling of late as to the direction I want to go with my art. I love to paint faces and so am inspired to paint portraits of the famous people we have lost in 2016 - mainly Carrie Fischer as she struggled with mental illness and fought the stigma so bravely. My problem is, what to use as reference? Is it ok to use a freeze frame of a famous person from a video found on the internet? While I researched this, I found myself stuck, until today... I realized that I love to paint faces and have done so many why not just make them up? Inspired I began to play with collage and mixed media and this was the result. Hmmm, this opens many possibilities... stay tuned.

Out with the old and in with the new...

I am hoping that 2017 is bringing you and your loved ones all the best in health and happiness! Our household started the year off with a flu bug and then an aching back - but hopefully, we can put all that aside soon. The downtime offered the perfect opportunity to revamp my website, so I gave it a new improved look and added a simplified payment process to the store, in case you don't have PayPal. Also, there is now the ability to view the paintings in the store by the year they were created, among other categories, before you buy! This feature works well on an ipad or a desktop computer but not on a phone (hopefully it will be available soon for the phone). I love this feature because it allows me to see the full body of my work in new ways... ie. all landscapes, all portraits, all florals, etc. Please surf by and check it out, and if you get a chance to give me your feedback, I would love that!
